Getting started
- Sign in with Google on the website.
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store (Add to Chrome).
- Click Connect this browser. No key copying needed — the browser links to your account automatically.
- Write an email in Gmail. A small Track My Mails toggle appears next to Send (works in every Gmail language). Send as usual.
Ticks in Gmail
In your Sent folder, ✓ means tracked and sent, ✓✓ means opened, with the open count beside it. Hover the ticks to see each open time and device; click through for the full history.
Open tracking
Track My Mails shows when your email is viewed, along with the time and device. Smart filtering makes sure your own views never inflate your stats.
Link click tracking (Pro)
Web links (http/https) — websites, Google Drive, Dropbox, Calendly, Zoom and more — can be tracked. Recipients go straight to the destination, and the click appears in your dashboard. mailto:/tel: links and direct attachments are not tracked; share PDFs as a cloud link to see who opened them.
Our tracking domain
Tracking images and tracked links use our dedicated tracking host — the official, HTTPS-secured tracking host of Track My Mails. It only records opens and clicks and forwards visitors to your original link; it never hosts files. Opening the address directly takes you to trackmymails.com.
Device & location
Each open shows the device type (desktop or mobile). Link clicks also show the country. Gmail sometimes hides the reader's location for opens, so location is shown only when it is reliable. Automated security checks are filtered out.
Follow-up reminders
Ask to be reminded if an email stays unopened — 24 hours, 48 hours or 3 days. Turn it on in Gmail compose with Notify me, or from the email's page in the dashboard. Reminders arrive while your dashboard or Gmail is open.
Smart follow-up timing (Pro)
Once an email has been opened, its page shows when this recipient usually reads: their peak day and hour, how fast they opened, and the latest activity. You also get a Hot/Warm/Cold engagement score (0–100) and a suggested follow-up window with a short tip. Everything is calculated by our own rules from open and click times — your email text is never sent to any AI or third party, and your subject, text and attachments are never read.
Tools inside Gmail
A bell in the Gmail header shows your latest opens and clicks. Save templates for messages you send often and insert them from compose.
How to test tracking
Most "it didn't work" reports come from testing in a way a real recipient never would. Follow these steps for an accurate test:
- Send to a second address you own. Send a tracked email from your Gmail to another email account.
- Open it from the recipient's Inbox, not your Sent folder. Your own views of emails you sent are never counted — on purpose.
- Use a different network. Real recipients read from their own connection. On your phone, turn off Wi-Fi and open the email with mobile data.
- Wait 2–3 minutes before testing a re-open. Gmail treats opens a few seconds apart as one reading, so they may show as a single open.
- Allow notifications in your browser and phone when asked, otherwise alerts can't appear.
Expected result: within seconds of the first open, the Gmail tick turns to ✓✓, the dashboard updates and you get an alert.
When notifications arrive
- First open: instant alert, ✓✓ in Gmail and a live dashboard update.
- Re-open: another alert ("opened again") when at least 2 minutes have passed since the previous alert.
- Hot lead: a 🔥 alert once an email reaches 3+ opens.
- Old conversation revival: an alert and an email to your sign-in address when an email is opened 24h+ after sending and 24h+ after its previous open.
- Still unopened: a one-time reminder email if a recent email stays unopened for 24 hours.
- Every open updates the Gmail ticks and dashboard, even when no sound plays — alerts are spaced out so you're never spammed.
In-app pop-ups appear while the dashboard is open. Pro and Lifetime add push notifications that arrive even when the site is closed. Change daily, weekly and monthly reports in Settings.
Not seeing an open?
- Was it opened from the recipient's Inbox? Opens from your own Sent folder are ignored.
- Was the extension connected and the toggle on when you sent? Emails sent without it aren't tracked.
- Did the recipient's mail app block images? Then no open can be detected.
- Was it reopened within a few seconds? Wait 2–3 minutes and try again.
- Still stuck? Message us from Live support — we reply quickly.
Dashboard & reports
See tracked emails, opens, open rate and clicks; Hot leads (3+ opens or a click), emails needing follow-up (unopened for 48h+), best day and hour to send, top links and most engaged recipients. Export to CSV or print to PDF. Free shows the last 7 days.
Ask Mili (AI search)
On the Emails page press Ask Mili (or press Alt+M — Option+M on Mac) and describe the emails you want in Bangla or English — for example “opened more than 5 times in the last 7 days”. The list filters instantly; each new request replaces the previous filter, and clicking outside closes the panel. Only your typed request (max 300 characters) is sent to the AI — never your email text, subjects or recipients. Free: 10 searches a day; Pro and Lifetime: 35, reset at midnight UTC. Greetings and account questions — renewal date, payment history, extension version, connected devices, support chats — are answered instantly and never use your daily searches.
Email activity reports
In Settings turn on daily, weekly or monthly reports and choose the hour, weekday and time zone. Each report shows sent emails, opens, open rate, clicks, hot leads and unopened emails, with a link to the full filtered list. You get at most one report per day, and empty periods can be skipped.
Conversations & list order
Replies you send in the same thread (same Gmail, same recipient, Re:/Fwd: subject) are grouped into one row with a message count. The list is sorted by Recent activity by default — recently opened emails first, new sends stay near the top. Switch to Newest sent, Last opened or Most opens any time.
Multiple Gmail accounts
One Track My Mails login covers every Gmail in the browser — use as many Gmail addresses as you like. Each email is filed under the Gmail address that sent it. To keep accounts personal, the extension can be connected on 1 browser/device per account on Free, Pro, Lifetime and Team seats (Pro Plus / Lifetime Plus: 2, Pro Max / Lifetime Max: 3) — remove an old device in Settings to connect a new one.
Plans & billing
New accounts get 30 days of Pro free, no card required. Free: 200 tracked emails per month. Pro: unlimited, monthly or yearly. Lifetime: one payment. Invoices and receipts are under Plans & billing. Cancel any time — you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends, and you can resume before then.
